Blog Info

My Blog promise to you:

  • I’m an extraordinarily positive person who has an occasional snarky moment.  When La Snark comes out to play, I’ll warn you.
  • I won’t discuss politics on this blog.
  • I won’t discuss religion on this blog.
  • I won’t give you financial advice.
  • I occasionally use damn, hell, and WTF.  I rarely say s _ _ t and I can’t remember the last time I ever wrote the whole F word.  I do say friggin’ sometimes.  Just wanted you to know that I’m human.
  • I don’t call other women bitches and I still see that word as coarse. It’s the Southern Belle in me.
  • I allow all comments, but I request a level of civility.  If I feel that anyone has crossed that line, I’ll delete the comment.
  • I don’t get free stuff, so any recommendations you receive will be about things I’ve bought myself, tried, and like.
  • I won’t recommend a book unless I truly love it.  I have no deals with my publisher, or any other publisher to say warm and fuzzy things.
  • I will try to always find something positive to say about everything, because that’s just the way I live my life – I look forward and upward.  It’s easier for me that way. I tend to trip and fall when I’m looking down.

Why this Blog

I had my ego handed to me on a platter in 2008.

A reviewer mentioned that she had never heard of me before. I started counting the number of books I’d published, and after I got to 20, I re-read her comment. Nope, never heard of me. Didn’t have a clue who I was. Okay, so I’d just made the NYT Bestseller List for the first time, but that certainly didn’t mean I was a household name. In fact, I’ve done everything in my power to stay UNDER the radar.

You see, I’ve always had this notion that the writer was never as important as the book. Well, this reviewer also pointed out something very important – if you don’t know who the author is, you’re less likely to even PICK UP the book.

My quest to expose myself began.

As far as the name of the blog – Warm Fuzzies! – I was agonizing about what to write when I first started autographing my books. All during the signings for my first book, I just couldn’t figure it out.  I didn’t want to use “Best”, which seems to be an industry standard, so I happened on to Warm Fuzzies! which was an expression I used often.  So, I started signing books: Warm Fuzzies! and used it for the name of this blog.
