Ta-Dah! My Christmas Present Has Arrived 5

Not a picture of Flash - just a stock picture of a tri-color to show you what he looks like. Ahem. Flash is prettier.

His name is Flash.

His AKC name is mucho longer.

He’s a tri-color Sheltie.

He’s a year old, is crate trained, house-broken, micro-chipped, and comes from a family of champions.

He’s also the most darling, obedient dog I’ve ever seen.  He’s fascinated with me typing.  He’s sitting here watching as if a treat is going to come out of the keyboard.  Funny.

You know how things just seem to fall into the right place at the right time? I called someone who called someone who called someone who called me and said, “I have this dog that was going to be a show dog but he’s too shy.”

My kind of dog.

No, he wasn’t cheap, but I think I made the best decision I could have made. I’m in love already.

No pictures yet but I’ll send them as soon as I find my camera.  He’s already made me laugh for about an hour.

  1. Congratulations!! A Sheltie! Awesome!

They are the best, we use to own one, her name was Casey, until she was stolen right out of our yard.
    The nerve of some people!

It broken our sons heart, he was 8 yrs old at the time and so attached to Casey.

They are the funniest doggies, easy to take care of, not a problem dog at all.

I’m happy to hear that the two of you are getting along, you’ll come to find out that Flash is going to be a great friend!

Hope you post some pictures of Flash soon, would love to see how he looks.

A very nice Christmas present to yourself!! :)

    • Dalila,

He’s screamingly funny. I have these no touch garbage cans. You just wiggle your fingers in the air and they open. Well, he got his nose too close to the electronic eye and it opened, so he’s been barking at it ever since. But he comes when called, sits in front of me expectantly, obeys me, and is an absolute delight. He’s engaged in barking at the UPS guy at the moment, which is okay with me.

Lovey, my other Sheltie, never barked. She was too shy. Flash is definitely not shy.

  2. Congratulations Karen and Merry Christmas to you!!!!! I am sitting here laughing at the vision I have of the expression on Flash’s face when that garbage can just magically opened! Hahahaa! He may be barking at it now, but I’m certain he’ll realize the benefits of waving his nose over that electronic eye soon enough…think a thick, juicy steak bone. One thing I’m certain of….. that can would NEVER be closed at our house with our 3 hooligans. ;-)

  3. I was google-ing (sp) tri-color shelties when I stumbled upon your post. I thought I was reading something that I had written. I recently purchased a tri-color sheltie through word of mouth from a breeder who decided not to show him because he’s too shy. He’s already house broken and crate trained. And I got him the week of Christmas. My last sheltie died 3 months ago. He was 18 1/2 years old. I thought I’d never get that attached to a dog again. But here he is and he’s absolutely adoreable! Enjoy your sheltie! I think they’re the cutest smartest dogs on earth.
